This is an IATSE 839 position covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Marvel Studios Animation is hiring a visual development artist on one of our animated series. This is a daily position specifically to help with early development character art. Artist will work closely with the directors, production designers, art directors, and other creative leads.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and complete finished color scripts and production ready assets within assigned deadlines
- Complete and develop environment designs and graphics
- Work with creative staff on addressing design fixes needed from vendor
- Resolve design problems with creative supervisors
- Be available throughout work hours to receive briefs and notes, and attend meetings
- Communicate progress of work to appropriate production staff
Qualifications:
- Must be comfortable tackling a wide range of environments: organic, mechanical, architectural, sci-fi, alien, historical, contemporary, MCU etc.
- Must demonstrate high-level drawing and painting skills
- Artists are expected to have a solid understanding of composition, value, perspective, color, shape language, and overall design
- High proficiency with Photoshop is a must, and knowledge of or willingness to learn applicable design and production software and hardware
- Knowledge of 2D and/or 3D modeling a plus
- Strong time-management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Works well under pressure
The pay rate for this role in Burbank, CA is $56.38 to $66.63 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
