Financial Reporting is the organization within the Controllership that leads and facilitates the segment’s financial reporting processes, including the production of all deliverables and supporting analysis for SEC reporting and segment management reporting. In addition, the team has direct responsibility over the financial statement consolidation of the individual financial reporting processes for business areas within the parks and resorts segment. Specifically, the Revenue Reporting Team prepares monthly, quarterly and year-to-date financial statements and analyzes variances to forecast, plan, and prior year for admissions, room rentals, merchandise, F&B, participant income and other revenue producing lines of business. Typical responsibilities of a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst include completing recurring weekly and monthly financial reporting deliverables, quarter-end tasks, and other projects as assigned by Management.

Position will be directly supporting the implementation of the Ticketing Evolution Project which will enhance pricing and yield management capabilities for one- and multi-day theme park tickets and add-ons, as well as automate ticket revenue recognition process. In this role the team member will primarily be focused on documenting accounting requirements, developing test scripts, participating in testing and documenting accounting procedures and controls for the new revenue recognition system.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • This position will support the DLR Ticketing Evolution Project (TEP3). This position will provide accounting support and leadership, as needed, throughout the project. This position will play a key role in partnering with other teams to ensure all Revenue Reporting requirements and dependencies are identified and included in the detailed build of the new system. In this role the team member will primarily be focused on documenting accounting and reporting requirements, developing test scripts, participating in testing, documenting accounting procedures and controls for the new revenue recognition system.
  • Position will also support the ongoing maintenance of the admissions revenue recognition systems through various tasks including but not limited to system testing, product configuration and variance research
  • Assist team with data analytics and reporting associated with new revenue streams
  • Assist in the implementation of new revenue initiatives which can include system configuration, product configuration, and testing requirements
  • Supports the monthly/quarterly close processes by preparing P&L and Balance Sheet analysis for Segment and Corporate executives
  • Ensures compliance with GAAP and SOX guidelines as well as various control and compliance procedures, including but not limited to: account reconciliations, journal entries, financial statement hierarchy maintenance, Minimal Control Standards questionnaires and legal/statutory reporting

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an Accounting, Finance, and/or Management

Preferred Education

  • Master of Accountancy or MBA

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial close process
  • Very strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Ability to prepare and present information to support decision making
  • Ability to work cross functionally, managing many stakeholders and building relationships throughout the company
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work, manage multiple priorities and deal effectively with pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • High level of proficiency with PC-based software applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint) and reporting applications. SAP system experience desired.
  • Proven ability to interpret accounting
  • guidance and apply to business scenarios to help in management decision making

  • CPA preferred

The hiring range for this position in California is $103,400 to $126,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
