What You’ll Do
The Director will be responsible for overseeing the development, planning and execution of experiential activations and global corporate hospitality programs on behalf of brand clients. The Director will play an integral role in shaping the strategic growth of hospitality and experiential business for the agency, impacting direction and brand reputation, and increasing business outcomes.
The ideal candidate is meticulous about delivering exceptional hospitality and consumer experiences, with an in-depth understanding of white glove service, event production and project planning.
The position will report directly into the Vice President and will contribute significantly to strengthening client relationships and the professional development of team members.
30% - Account and Project Management
  • Oversee operations for a team, ensuring that the team is working efficiently, communicating effectively and consistently exceeding client expectation
  • Optimize a broad body of work by implementing management processes to standardize thoughtful ideation, critical forecasting, detailed planning and comprehensive reporting of client deliverables
  • Collaborate on the creation of annual business plans and oversee its implementation
  • Direct the planning, program development and execution of large-scale sports and entertainment events
  • Develop annual activation plans based on client objectives and contractual deliverables
  • Provide detailed oversight and delegation of program components including communications, production, hospitality, staffing and measurement
  • Regularly demonstrate complete understanding of requirements to develop and implement global experiential and hospitality programming such as creative development, vendor selection and management, logistical and contingency planning, onsite execution, troubleshooting and decision making
  • Provide topline oversight of the financial projections and execution of all agreements and contracts, ensuring all billing and payments are properly executed through the finance team and that client budgets are managed and reconciled appropriately
30% - Client Management & Strategic Leadership
  • Develop a working knowledge of client event marketing initiatives and industry trends, serving as a subject matter expert
  • Establish and advance trusted relationships with senior clients by providing sound strategic recommendations, ensuring quality across all team deliverables, anticipating client needs and providing solutions
  • Maintain in-depth awareness of all client requests to proactively address project prioritization and revise strategies
  • Demonstrate proficiency in delivering innovative ideas and refining event marketing concepts and execution based on an understanding of relevant client business metrics
  • Monitor marketplace, identify new pursuits, and proactively present suggestions to clients regarding competitor tactics and whitespace opportunities
  • Keep Vice President updated on the status and timing of deliverables, client and team health
20% - Business Development
  • Support new business generation by driving organic growth with current event partners and participating in pitches for new agency clients
  • Work across the broader agency teams to identify new opportunities where experiential and hospitality may deliver new business opportunities
  • Champion creative ideas by developing clear, polished presentations to sell-in concepts and recommendations
20% - Staff Development
  • Manage the professional development of each direct report
  • Set career development goals, track performance, and hold team members accountable
  • Work with team members to improve skill sets and remove barriers to effectiveness
  • Provide constructive performance feedback in real time Identify training needs for improved performance

  • Monitor team’s workload and notify Vice President if additional staff support is necessary
  • Oversee hiring and onboarding for new team members
  • Contribute, build and maintain positive and dynamic culture across the agency

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (minimum)
  • Minimum of 10 years of event management experience at an agency, team, league or brand with a proven performance record
  • Advanced understanding of corporate hospitality programs, event production and operations
  • Ability to convert comprehensive client-facing information into actionable strategies
  • Experience training, teaching and coaching staff of no less than two (2) team members
  • Experience working across organization and interfacing with a variety of stakeholders
  • High level of proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work nights, weekends or travel for events

Occasionally the employee might be asked to perform minimal physical activity in support of onsite event execution
Salary Range: $2,692.31 to $3,173.08 a week. A successful applicant’s actual weekly or hourly rate may vary based upon, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure/certifications, and equity.
