The role of Sony Pictures Television is to sell Features, TV Movies and Series, Scripted and Unscripted formats and series to international buyers, including broadcasters, platforms, producers and sponsors.

This position will assist the International Format team to enable the global distribution teams to sell SPT’s catalogue of scripted and unscripted formats as well as the catalogue of international unscripted and scripted format series across the globe, via Sony’s own International Production Companies, and via the Territory Sales teams to 3rd party producers, broadcasters, platforms and sponsors.

This role will provide sales admin support to the sales execs in the International format team, to ensure the smooth running of the sales functions, including diary management, booking travel, supporting events, pitches and meetings, maintaining sales trackers and databases, supporting format admin requests from territory teams, and providing timely data required for reports to stakeholders and client requests.

What you'll do:

  • Provide support to SVP of International Formats, VP of Brand Management & Interactive Strategy and Director, Format Sales and Sales Exec formats including diary management, preparation and processing of expenses, booking travel, coordinating trips & client meetings and providing data for T&E budget.
  • Handle and update our list of Sony key format contacts as well as out client contact spreadsheets.
  • Maintain and update the sales tracker, including tracking of option dates.
  • Assist International Sales execs in crafting format information packs for Distribution execs and Clients.

Assist in the maintenance and updating of information required for the distribution of finished episodes of unscripted and scripted formats and international unscripted series:

  • Tracking and documenting rights and clearance information, product set up and asset collection.
  • Flagging issues to Director of format sales for resolution
  • Collaborating closely with the research team to collect appropriate data for sales decks.
  • Support International Format team and Distribution execs in preparation of client meetings including format pitches.
  • Be the key support to the Intl Format team at key sales events, including MIPCOM, LA Screenings, London Screenings and other local markets and screenings. Support to include arranging travel, booking meetings and dinners, assembling format packs, pitch decks and collating client info.
  • Update sales reports for format owners, both internal and external, as requested by SVP of International Formats
  • Preparing client follow-up packages as requested to include screeners, pitch decks and other tailored data.
  • Use of Tableau, Runner, Connect and other Sony databases to support format sales including assembling briefing packs for sales.
  • Supporting sales by entering client proposals into Sony’s excel spreadsheets.

What you have:

  • Typically, 1-2 years’ experience of working in an office environment, ideally with 6 months experience in a media sales environment preferably within TV distribution.
  • Experience of Sales administration such as tracking, working on sales reports and databases.
  • Knowledge of working legal contracts and confident in understanding basic deal terms is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience managing executives including diary management, trade fares & making traveling arrangements.
  • Highly numerate & computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) – must be very adaptable and confident with computer systems (particularly databases)
  • High level of organisation & ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a very high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and confident.
  • Team Player.
