Live Television Producer
Rothe is seeking a Live Television Producer to provide broadcast television production services for the Johnson Space Center’s Public Affairs Office in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications for NASA’s Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. This is a Hybrid Role in Houston, TX at NASA Johnson Space Center
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is for a full-time Live Television / Video Producer with duties that include, but are not limited to:
- Direct and produce live televised events, coordinating with media clients before and during events.
- Live Television Producer will work under various conditions, including in the studio, production control room, remote field locations, and in other NASA field center locations.
- Perform all pre-production for live televised events. Communicate with external clients, schedule technical checkouts, and communicate status to the NASA customer.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the NASA customer for assigned events.
- Live Television Producer will work in a team environment within the JSC Multimedia Team: videographers, video producers, graphic artists, video editors, live television producers, television engineers and audio engineers. Must be able to work autonomously, identifying project requirements, plan and coordinate resources, execute and deliver products within a deadline.
- Must be willing to work on weekends, holidays and outside of normal business hours.
- Must communicate in a friendly and professional manner with NASA personnel, follow government protocol standards, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work well with customers, management and fellow employees at all levels in a team environment.
- Adherence to quality control, safety, operations, administrative and security procedures including reporting will be required.
For remote, hybrid, and onsite positions, the employee bears travel costs to nearest NASA Center for badging and issue of NASA IT equipment.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in live television, multimedia production or related field from an accredited University or Technical Institute and 5 years experience in a broadcast production environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Very strong understanding and direct experience with modern video switchers, graphics engines, and MAM systems.
- Experienced working in Windows networked environments and with Microsoft Office products.
- Familiar with Dalet Media Asset Management System, or other similar MAMs.
- Experienced and knowledgeable with digital video formats.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lync, Teams, OneNote, One Drive), SharePoint, and Box.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
