Project Manager

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and closure of complex research, development, and product implementation projects. This role is critical in driving innovation and delivering high-quality products to market while meeting organizational goals and exceeding stakeholder expectations.

Requirements:

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and executes comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Leads project kick-off and closing meetings.
  • Tracks project progress, manages changes, identifies and resolves issues.
  • Communicates project status to all stakeholders, including executive management.
  • Manages project budget and resources effectively.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and best practices.
  • Identifies and mitigates project risks.
  • Conducts post-project evaluations and identifies lessons learned.
  • Develops and implements change management strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Identifies and cultivates key stakeholders.
  • Manages stakeholder expectations and communicates project progress effectively.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong change management skills.
  • Ability to build consensus and resolve conflicts.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
  • Knowledge of industry-specific standards and regulations.
  • Experience in Venue Projects.
  • Experience with change management methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager with a similar organization.
  • Strong understanding of real estate development, design processes, construction methodologies, and building codes.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and other relevant software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and work under tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented nature with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Professional certification such as PMP is preferred.

Physical Demand & Work Environments:

  • Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
