Job Summary

The Brand Insights team is a highly visible group that is charged with finding the best methods to evaluate the performance of The Walt Disney Company’s portfolio of brands and to deeply understand the entertainment consumer’s sentiment, needs, and behaviors across the world.  Using data and insights, the team plays an integral part in key business decisions and helps maximize the potential of The Walt Disney Company brands globally. The Brand Insights team works in a consultative manner across all aspects of Disney’s business portfolio to deliver complex ad hoc research and synthesize a wide array of data and insights to support decision making on brand strategic opportunities.

The Brand Insights team dual reports into Brand Management (Corporate segment) and Studio Research & Analytics (Disney Entertainment segment).

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Analyst, Brand Insights is responsible for performing analytics and helping the team shape insights for communicating to Senior Executives on brand performance and brand driving topics. As the key analytic resource on a wide variety of high-profile projects, the Analyst prepares the data that drives decision-making at the highest levels of The Walt Disney Company.

Responsibilities

  • Support tracking studies to measure performance of our brands and reputation around the world; includes gathering survey inputs, managing large data files in Excel / SPSS, reporting in PowerPoint, and ad hoc analyses

  • Support custom research projects to evaluate and understand brand health, brand sentiment, consumer involvement, and corporate social responsibility efforts in collaboration with stakeholders and other business units both domestically and internationally

  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to answer key business questions from Executive Leadership and ensure consumer insights are effectively used and integrated into brand strategies

  • Synthesize primary research, syndicated research, and cross-segment data sources to develop a clear POV on initiatives that span The Walt Disney Company’s portfolio of brands

  • Assist in developing story-driven decks and presenting findings to stakeholders across the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, psychology or related field

  • At least 2 years of experience in a market research/consumer insights, consulting, strategy, or analytics role

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to manage multiple large data sets including trended files and market files

  • Experience creating presentations that clearly communicate data and research findings

  • Strong project management skills and ability to execute quality work within tight deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Solid presentation skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

  • Ability to work in an environment with multiple priorities

  • Professionally mature, enthusiastic, and demonstrates a strong collaborative yet consultative approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with consumer research (designing questionnaires and analyzing results)

  • Experience using statistical software packages like Q, SPSS, or similar

  • Experience supporting global tracking studies

  • Entertainment industry experience highly preferred

  • Strong Excel experience

  • Strong PowerPoint experience


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $71,000 - $95,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
