Job Description
Fairchild Media Group, publisher of Women's Wear Daily (WWD); Footwear News (FN); Sourcing Journal (SJ), and Beauty Inc., is seeking a Managing Editor to work closely with the Chief Content Officer to help coordinate editorial coverage across all of its titles, as well as manage and work with key staff on WWD in terms of editing, publishing and production. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in B2B or B2C publications and must be extremely comfortable in a fast-paced digital publishing environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating coverage of key news moments and events across WWD, FN, SJ, Beauty Inc., WWD Weekend and related special sections.
- Editing and publishing content for the WWD website, WWD Weekend and special sections.
- Collaborate with Chief Content Officer on story ideation for all publications.
- Work with EICs of WWD, FN, SJ and Beauty Inc to help manage editorial staff across the four publications.
- Oversee FMG Design, Photo and Copy departments and work with them on scheduling, staffing and workflow.
- Liaise with business operations on deadlines and ideas for sections and live events.
- Work with staff across all four publications on best SEO practices.
- Attend events on behalf of the company as needed.
- Work closely with the WWD EIC and Chief Content Officer on WWD and WWD Weekend content, both for print, the web site and WWD's Digital Daily.

Typical wage range: $130k - $150k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
