Meruelo Media is searching for a Sales & Marketing Assistant to support sales management and staff. The Sales Assistant will assist with research, creating digital media plans, management reports and presentations, and sales packages and recaps.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute all sales initiatives and strategies for sales sponsorships and events.
  • Manage all production scheduling and calendars.
  • Oversee the sales team and support them in meeting their goals and deadlines.
  • Provide sales administrative support, generate sales related reports and act as an extension of sales team.
  • Direct liaison to traffic manager for all sales elements and manage daily fillers to assure client posting.
  • Manage and update all paid programming orders on a weekly basis.
  • Enter new orders, cancellations and revisions for the sales team.
  • Ability to build strategic media sales plans for sales staff based on RFPs, proposal requests, and research.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations as needed for sales team.
  • File, make copies, and answer sales phone calls.
  • Update and manage all KWHY/CALI sales media kits.
  • Provide assistance to clients as needed (i.e. spot times, invoices, contracts, etc.).
  • Capable of analyzing and updating radio/TV sales data and research.
  • Actively participate in the stations’ marketing and sales meetings.
  • Provide billing and pending reporting as requested.
  • Create customized sales rationale and provide research ammunition as needed for Account Executives.
  • Manage and create project recaps as assigned by Account Executives.
  • Other job-related functions as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
  • 1-2 years prior experience in sales support/administrative assistant role preferably in radio/media.
  • Management experience is preferred.
  • Radio/Broadcast knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Los Angeles market and demographic breakout is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
  • Fluent in Internet, social and mobile media platforms a plus.
  • Keen understanding of all of the available on-air and digital sales assets and have the ability to appropriately include these elements in a sales proposal.
