Job Description
We are currently looking for an Associate Photo Editor/Retoucher to work across flagship titles Marie Claire, Who What Wear and other brands in the Future portfolio.
What you'll be doing...
The ideal candidate is collaborative and has an elevated eye for photography. You have a demonstrated interest in fashion and beauty and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. The Associate Photo Editor and Retoucher handles a variety of photo research, image licensing, retouching and other tasks connected with the photo desk. You will;
- Conduct daily photo research, sourcing photography, agreeing terms and licensing images to meet department needs
- Manage files, ensuring consistency, brand process, alignment, colour accuracy and file management
- Maintain the photography archive
- Execute photo retouching, editing, colour correcting, sizing and image manipulation
- Process paperwork associated with the photo department, including invoices, contracts, releases.
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...
- Knowledge of photography copyright compliance and image usage law
- Familiarity with photography wire sources and image archives
- Willingness to work early mornings and on some occasions evenings, weekends or holidays
- BA Degree in photography, related field or equivalent
- High level of skill in Photoshop, including clipping, masking and frequency separation
- Prior experience working with photos within a CMS preferred
- 2+ years of photo editing experience for an online publication or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in fashion, beauty, homes and lifestyle

This is a hybrid position working out of our NYC office, working three days from the office, two from home
