American Cinematheque seeks a Programming and Archive Intern who will gain all-around experience at a nonprofit film arts organization while supporting collection preservation and accessibility, film programming, marketing and external relations. The intern will receive specialized training for archive responsibilities (50%), which will include archiving incoming audio/video/photos from recent events; performing quality control for newly edited videos; audio and video trimming and editing; and annotating recent interviews. For historical collection materials, the intern will also research topics pertinent to the collection. Additional responsibilities (10%) will include updating member records and prospecting. The schedule is 10:00am-5:00pm (maximum of 40 hours per week), with occasional weekend/evenings. This 10-week opportunity is slated for June 16 to August 22, although AC would consider a June 9 start.
