Worldwide Distribution Analytics Intern, MPG - Distribution – Summer 2025

This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 29th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Sony Pictures Releasing is the studio’s theatrical distribution group and is responsible for the release of feature films from Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems, Sony Pictures Animation, Sony Pictures International Productions, and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions to cinemas around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate should have a strong interest in learning about the theatrical distribution business and have strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. The intern will work with the team in the area of sales and planning strategy, as well as provide analytic support to our global theatrical sales team. Responsibilities for the role include analyzing datasets from the division’s various database systems to develop market insights, monitoring global release dates and box office performance, and contributing to various research projects. At the end of this rotation, the intern will have detailed knowledge of the film distribution business.

• Knowledge and passion for film business
• Strong knowledge /experience with analytics and data
• Experience with Excel and database management
• Interest in international markets
• Flexible and able to prioritize and re-priortize within fluid situations
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and working under tight constraints
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail

The anticipated base salary for this position is $37/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
