Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative Director of Photography (DP) to join our team. The DP will be responsible for overseeing the visual aspects of our productions. The ideal candidate has a strong creative vision, and a deep understanding of cinematic techniques. This role will collaborate closely with the Director and production team to bring our projects to life.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the Director: Work closely with the Director to interpret the creative vision and translate it into stunning visuals.

- Develop Visual Style: Design and execute the visual look of each project, including lighting, camera movement, composition, and color palette.

- Operate Cameras: Utilize top-tier cameras and equipment to capture high-quality footage, ensuring the best angles and lighting for each scene.

- Lead Camera Department: Supervise camera crew, gaffers, and grips to ensure seamless production operations and efficient setups.

- Lighting Design: Create lighting setups that enhance the visual integrity of the scene.

- Collaborate on Storyboarding: Work with the Director and storyboarding team to plan and execute shots that align with the narrative and visual goals of the project.

- Ensure Technical Quality: Oversee the technical quality of footage, including exposure, focus, and framing, to meet high standards.

- Stay Up-to-Date with Technology: Keep abreast of the latest camera equipment, drones, stabilizers, and post-production techniques to enhance the visual storytelling of films.

- Post-Production Involvement: Work with the editing and color grading teams to ensure the final product reflects the desired visual aesthetic.

Qualifications

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a DP or cinematographer, with a portfolio of work, commercials, or lifestyle content.

- Expertise: Strong understanding of filmmaking, including how to film people, cars, animals etc in motion, detail shots, and dynamic action scenes.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency with professional-grade cameras and advanced lighting setups.

- Creative Vision: A passion for crafting unique visual experiences with a keen eye for detail, framing, and composition.

- Team Leadership: Ability to manage a crew, work under tight deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced production environments.

- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong ability to interpret and execute a director’s vision.

- Problem Solving: Resourceful in solving on-set challenges, particularly in outdoor or challenging environments.

- Availability: Willing to travel for shoots and work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required.

Pay: $78,767.00 - $94,607.00 per year
