Sacramento Republic FC is one of the premier clubs in USL Championship. Since 2014, the club has reflected the Indomitable nature of California’s Capitol City, breaking league records year over year, winning the championship in its inaugural season, and sparking a regional passion for soccer. Owned and managed by a joint venture partnership between Wilton Rancheria and Kevin Nagle, the club will continue to invest in the city, with plans to build a Downtown soccer-specific stadium that will redefine entertainment in the growing and evolving Sacramento region. Along with its partners, Republic FC is committed to supporting various community investment programs to serve the city, use its platform to drive impact and success on and off the field, and operate the region’s only youth-to-pro soccer development academy, while also supporting the development of youth soccer players throughout Northern California.
Role Summary:
The Community Investment Director for Sacramento Republic FC is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading a comprehensive Community Investment strategy that reflects SRFC’s core values of an indomitable spirit, a unified community, and a winning mentality. This role ensures SRFC maintains a positive and visible presence within the community, fostering a culture of resilience, unity, and excellence. Through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, the director leads impactful programs, events, and campaigns that address critical local needs, promote volunteer opportunities, support health and well-being (including mental health), and create spaces for youth to engage in sports.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and lead an integrated Community Investment strategy that embodies SRFC’s values of indomitable spirit, unified community, and a winning mentality.
- Guide initiatives around charitable contributions, volunteerism, and community programs that promote health and active lifestyles, emphasizing SRFC’s dedication to resilience and community support.
- Lead and manage a team of staff and interns, ensuring the effective delivery of community-focused programs that inspire unity and a winning mentality within the region.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and sustain productive relationships with health organizations, nonprofits, corporate partners, and local government entities.
- Serve as SRFC’s ambassador at community meetings and events, advocating for the club’s indomitable commitment to health, unity, and support for youth sports.
- Oversee engagement plans that address community needs and regional priorities, particularly through partnerships that promote well-being, youth development, and inclusive opportunities for exercise.
Program Development and Implementation
- Design and manage a comprehensive calendar of special events, outreach initiatives, health-focused programs, volunteer projects, and charitable campaigns.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, communications, and soccer operations, to amplify the reach of programs aligned with health and wellness, unity, and a winning mentality.
- Coordinate game-day presentations and health-focused community events, such as fundraisers, mini-pitch builds, and youth clinics that encourage resilience and sportsmanship.
- Manage SRFC’s player/staff appearance schedule, promoting community involvement and inspiring a unified community committed to active, healthy living.
Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility
- Partner with PR and marketing teams to develop messaging around SRFC’s values-driven community efforts and CSR initiatives.
- Highlight SRFC’s commitment to health, unity, and community support through initiatives such as mini-pitch builds and youth sports programming.
- Monitor and report on the impact of SRFC’s community programs, ensuring alignment with organizational values of resilience, unity, and striving for excellence.
Operational Oversight
- Manage the budget for the Community Investment department, including tracking expenses, forecasting, and reconciliation.
- Oversee charitable ticket programs, in-kind donations, and merchandise allocations to support SRFC’s community-driven initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all laws, policies, and procedures related to charitable contributions and nonprofit partnerships.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in community relations, CSR, health initiatives, or a similar role, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.

- Demonstrated expertise in building and managing community partnerships focused on health, youth exercise, volunteer efforts, and community unity.
- Knowledge of charitable giving regulations, health program management, and CSR best practices.
- Demonstrated written verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive under pressure.
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated knowledge with Microsoft 365 suite, and ability to learn and adapt to relevant soft ware.
Additional Requirements
- High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive team and personnel information.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for community events and health-focused projects.
Position Information:
Status: Full-time Hourly (Exempt)
Compensation: $66,000 - $83,000 Annual Pay
