Paper Plane Productions Fall Internships

PAPER PLANE PRODUCTIONS

In 2017, Alon Aranya launched Paper Plane Productions with an emphasis on producing and financing original international drama series around the world. The company collaborates with producers, writers and broadcasters in various countries including the US, Israel, Germany, Holland, Ireland, India, Poland, France, Australia and Canada to help co-finance and develop local shows in those territories for the global market. This year, 2023, Paper Plane is celebrating its fifth anniversary with four shows on the air.

In 2020, Paper Plane entered a first-look deal with Apple TV+ to co-produce and co-finance international dramas. As part of that deal, the company produces TEHRAN with the Israeli Public Broadcaster, which launched on Apple TV+ in September 2020 as the platform’s first non-English language series and won the International Emmy for Best Drama Series in 2022. Season two, featuring Glenn Close, premiered in May 2022, and season three, featuring Hugh Laurie, is set to premiere in the fall of 2023. The company’s second international show is BESTSELLER BOY in Holland, which came out of Paper Plane’s first-look deal with CBS Studios International in 2018. THE VANISHING TRIANGLE with Virgin Ireland and Sundance / AMC is the company’s third international series.

In the US, Alon Aranya is the executive producer of YOUR HONOR, with Bryan Cranston, produced for Showtime. The show became the most watched debut season on Showtime ever upon season one airing in December 2020. Season two aired on January 15, 2023, with even higher viewership than season one, and season three is in the works.
