WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Recording Academy, the organization behind the world-famous GRAMMY Awards, seeks an experienced and hands-on Director, Digital Media Analytics & Strategy to architect, integrate, measure, analyze, forecast and provide a holistic view of the company's business performance across product, content, partners, partnerships, affiliates, and social media interactions. All major event reporting and deliveries are considered black-out months/dates for the Business Intelligence department.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Director will l everage the Recording Academy's past data to position the organization to succeed in the future. You will inform on the performance, revenue, and strategy across the organization and be responsible for managing the following:

  • Analysis: Translate and simplify data into actionable insights that lead to business strategies.
  • Strategy: Create informative management and strategic summaries of trends and data analysis informing future decisions and initiatives of the division and organization.
  • Data Integrity & Compliance: Maintain data accuracy, reliability and compliances, ensuring accurate data sourcing and reporting.
  • Data Repository: Maintain and improve current dashboard and repository of Digital, Web, Streaming and Social Media data that informs the Entertainment & Consumer division.
  • Reporting: Maintain and optimize a holistic end-to-end reporting framework, including data visualization, through interactive online dashboards, delivered regularly and in timely fashion supporting both operational and executive stakeholders.
  • Methodology: Maintain appropriate analytical methodology, approach , and KPIs.
  • Educate: Provide guidance and support to business leaders and stakeholders on how best to harness available data in support of critical business needs and goals.
  • Research: Conduct primary and secondary research and provide statistical insight to key stakeholders.
  • Forecasting: Provide “forward thinkingâ€� insight to stakeholders through data analysis and business intelligence.
  • SEO: Guide the organization in best practices for SEO implementation and monitor performance to drive business decisions.
  • Partnerships: Provide psychographic and demographic audience insights to potential partners as well as end of campaign data and analysis for existing partnerships.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Digital pro-active day-to-day reporting and project priority decision-making .
  • Pre-planning, tactical planning, scoping, project management, organization and delivery of reporting.
  • Oversight and coordination of data platforms, sources, and user roles, ensuring positive collaboration across the division and organization regarding data analytics and reporting.
  • Develop and/or provide insight on new strategies as the digital, social, and content trends shift and change based on user behavior.
  • Advise on vendor selection and management as needed.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting and forecasting as needed.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data analytics and insights, or program/product performance modeling for a high-profile digital media organization.
  • Demonstrated implementation, maintenance, and use of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ad Manager, and Tableau and/or similar Business Intelligence platforms.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of social media analytics such as Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, YouTube Analytics, Instagram Stories, Reels & Insights, TikTok, Sprout, and other and new social media analytics.
  • Proven experience in CRM and email platforms like: Mailchimp and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Proven ability delivering post-mortem assessments, performance dashboards, and executive summaries that clearly translate and contextualize the data.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, data research, visualization, and multivariate and A/B testing, tagging and taxonomy implementation, etc.
  • Survey Analytics, NPS Strategies, SEO, SEM, Conductor and/or related search tools and platforms experience a plus.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The starting salary for this position is $116,200 to $130,700 per year , benchmarked against industry standards. Salaries for positions required to be in specific geographic locations reflect the corresponding labor market.
The actual offer extended will depend on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the role's requirements and will include our comprehensive benefits package (with medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k match, generous paid time off, and more).
