Salary/Wage:
$70,000 - $80,000/yr.

Job Summary/Description:
Northern News Now in Duluth, MN has an opening for a News Director. This position is responsible for managing the News Department and delivering top notch quality to our viewers.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Establish and maintain market-leading standards for newsroom operations and content.
- Hire, coach, supervise, and evaluate news personnel.
- Assist with the preparation and administration of newsroom budgets and capital requests.
- Work closely with other department managers to achieve the company's overall performance goals.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of community issues and needs, as well as sound journalistic principles.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum of three years of television news management experience.
- College degree in broadcast journalism preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have exceptional time management skills.
- Must have the ability to make fast, accurate journalistic, ethical, and logistical judgments.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Professionally represent and support station, both in policy and demeanor.
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
