About the Role & Team
Disney Television Animation is looking for a Color Designer to join an Unannounced Series!
What You Will Do
- Work with the Art Director and/or Color Design Supervisor/Lead on to implement their vision of the color design as it pertains to the look, color and style of the series
- Obtain Creative approval on all color designs that are created for each episode prior to shipping to the assigned animation service provider
- Color design and maintain/organize work as assigned, typically including but not limited to: characters, props, effects, expressions, special poses and size comps
- Prepare and organize the design elements and design element files for the animation service provider for each shipment as it pertains to its assigned episode
- Ship design element files to the animation service provider when requested
- Work closely with the background designs and paintings, creating and maintaining consistency regarding the color and design of the series
- Collaborate and communicate needs and progress with supervisors and other departments as requested, within the series and Color Design within TVA
- Adhere to the production schedule provided by show Leadership to ensure cost effective and timely production
- Utilize TVA provided Harmony scripts as requested to ensure data and workflow consistency
- Conversion of Photoshop to Harmony files may be required depending on the series process
- Answer questions and problem solve color design related issues that arise with the animation service provider
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A portfolio that demonstrates expert knowledge of color and color theory, illustration, and traditional art skills
- Ability to align with style and color sensibility of show
- Knowledge of software including Harmony, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D technology where applicable
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Positive and flexible attitude
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Education
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
The pay rate for this role in California is $51.78 to $56.65 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
