Summary of Position
Lionsgate is currently seeking an Assistant in the Business and Legal Affairs (Motion Picture Group) department. This position is a great opportunity for a detailed oriented, business-minded individual who is looking for a career in the film industry.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative assistance on a high-volume desk, including answering and managing calls, scheduling meetings and conference calls, and managing calendars and all other administrative assistance.
- Maintaining very detailed deal status reports.
- Manage the execution, distribution, and filing of development, production, and post-production agreements.
- Taking notes on calls, in meetings, and during negotiations.
- Revising and redlining memos.
- Manage and coordinate with accounting, payment for talent, options, and all other miscellaneous incoming invoices.
- Drafting correspondence, memos, and notices for internal and external communication.
- Managing expenses, payment statements, and invoices.
- Executing special projects and research, including, without limitation on connection with rights analysis, guild minimums and issues, and deals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative support role in the entertainment business.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must have an interest in the deal making side of the film industry
- Must be capable of working with and keeping strictly confidential information.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat).
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to read and understand basic contract language (e.g., the ability to pull an actor agreement and find what living allowance they are entitled to receive on set).
Nice to Haves
- Experience working at a law firm, talent agency and/or television or motion picture studio or production company.
- Experience reading and handling legal contracts (e.g., talent agreements).
- General knowledge and understanding of the entertainment industry.
- Working with contract management, file management and database management systems.

Compensation
$43,000 - $45,000
