This position is within the Warner Bros. Discovery Corporate Line of Business/Segment FP&A team, which supports the Corporate, Technology and Global Real Estate segment. This role serves as a key team member responsible for:
- Preparing and reviewing management reporting packages, consolidating financial results, and providing critical support for special projects and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborating often with FP&A, process and systems groups, COE, and finance and accounting teams to support segment-specific activities and decision making.
- Providing leadership for senior financial analysts.
- Serving as trusted advisor and client liaison for stakeholders, business partners and finance leadership.
- 20% Consistently prepare and publish accurate and meaningful consolidated financial statements and reporting packages for month-end close to finance and accounting on a timely basis. Prepare consolidated P&L reporting of results and explanations for finance leadership and FP&A. Support timely resolution of issues, tracking of special items, and post-close activities.
- 10% Understand the company's accounting policies and procedures. Provide guidance to segment finance teams on ad hoc accounting questions; and provide to segment finance select information on ledger details and schedules.
- 30% Evaluate and understand changes to the monthly consolidated segment forecast, and provide consolidated P&L reporting by pillar. Provide consolidated forecast, budget, and prior year comparative reporting and variance explanations to finance and FP&A. Reconcile data across financial systems. Prepare annual budget reporting and assist with budget deck preparation as required.
- 20% Collaborate and communicate with FP&A, process & systems groups, and finance as required to support segment-specific activities, calendars, and any items impacting the integrity of financial data being reported.
- 20% Provide value-added ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to support improved visibility and decision-making. Represent segment on special project teams. Partner with finance and FP&A teams to support needs of the organization. Participate in meetings and discussions to understand business drivers and explanations. Identify process improvement opportunities for consolidated reporting and analysis.
Qualifications & Experience…
- Minimum 5 years accounting and/or forecasting experience. Minimum 3 years supervisory experience is preferred.
- Advanced analytical skills, and strong technical accounting skills. Proficiency in all MS Office, and preferably ESSBASE/ Hyperion or Analysis for Office (AO) and SAP applications.
- Demonstrate effective communication at all levels of the organization, strong presentation skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, the ability to influence others, and strong problem resolution skills. Perform role with high degree of integrity, tact, and diplomacy.
- Strong organizational and task management skills, experience as change agent, and in-depth process improvement experience.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and work collaboratively across the organization.
