Here, we know that each talent makes our collective bolder and brighter. We are guided by four core principles that underpin everything we do across all our diverse businesses:
  • Music is Everything: Music is our passion, and we can never get enough. Tastes, trends, and tech will change, but great artists and songwriters will always be our driving force.
  • Global Growth, Local Expertise: Music is a global language. Through communication and collaboration, our success can come from anywhere and translate everywhere.
  • Innovation and Insight: Pushing the boundaries requires the best information and the boldest imagination. We use both to create the future.
  • Empowered by People: Like the artists we serve and the music they make, our differences make us stronger. This is a place where every talent can belong and build a career.

We encourage applications from people of any age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, disability, veteran status, and any other characteristic or identity.
Consider a career at WMG and get the best of both worlds – an innovative global music company that retains the creative spirit of a nimble independent.
A little bit about our team:
Release Operations is key to the core function of the company. In the Label Operations department, we work to ensure that the creative content from the labels are distributed out to the market correctly, on time, and set up to industry and artistic standards. This role interfaces closely with both labels and other production teams to work toward the central goal of releasing content be it singles, albums, preorders, videos, and more. This position walks the line between meeting the creative vision of an artist, and following guidelines set forth by the industry. Getting product to market is the backbone of a distribution company!
Your role:
This role is a unique opportunity to work with exciting independent labels, guiding them, and getting their physical content to the masses. In addition to having a front-row seat to the creative side, this role also has visibility and engagement in the newest technology for music consumption. As a liaison between label partners and production teams, this is a great spot to develop project management skills while working on music from your favorite indie artists.
Here you’ll get to:
  • Foster relationships with label partners, guide them through the new release process for physical products, advise labels on release standards, respond to inquiries and special requests.
  • Act as a stakeholder for platform initiatives related to physical operations processes, metadata input and delivery dashboards
  • Liaise with incoming and departing partners to determine their physical change of distribution needs, aligning on timelines and setting expectations
  • Build a strong knowledge of the downstream processes of the physical supply chain, collaborating with the supply chain team to troubleshoot errors. Continuously seek ways to improve how our teams work together.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on honing processes, internally and externally, owning all operational documentation for global physical processes
  • Periodically interface with third party vendors, collaborating on new initiatives and proactively surfacing bugs, blockers and improvements
  • Gather, survey, and advise on actions needed based on reports across the repertoire you represent
  • Work alongside various internal teams (label management, marketing/services, finance, etc.) to help artists and labels achieve their physical release goals
  • Maintaining the corresponding physical knowledge base and it’s maintenance
About you:
  • Have strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Show ambition and motivation as a self-starter.
  • Work under deadlines and strive under pressure.
  • Be a quick study in learning new software systems.
We’d love it if you also had:
  • College Degree preferred
  • Five years of experience in the music industry
  • Background knowledge of industry metadata standards
  • An interest in the independent music sector
  • Experiencing training and/or managing junior teammates
