As Director, Podcast Sales, you will play an instrumental role, driving revenue growth for Cineverse Podcast Networks with a library of over 40 shows catering to every entertainment, horror, and true crime enthusiast. Our networks, including Bloody Disgusting, currently attract 9.6 million unique listeners and growing. This role will be responsible for managing relationships with key buying agencies and brands directly, crafting creative media plans and overseeing the successful delivery of campaigns. We are on the hunt for a confident and experienced Podcast Sales Director to manage and expand a portfolio of key media agency and brand relationships across the US national market, leveraging some of the highest caliber talent in the industry.


Essential Functions

  • Be a key individual contributor to driving podcast sales revenue, ready to hit the ground running with relevant brand and agency relationships while carrying a quarterly sales quota.
  • Manage a sales pipeline, generate leads, create sales proposals and presentations, track leads and heavy outbound prospecting
  • Develop, establish and build upon strong current relationships across select performance agencies and marketers in the podcast space
  • Sell video-first podcasts for YouTube and Spotify Video, plus new shows under the RetroCrush (anime) and Midnight Pulp (cult films and TV shows) brands
  • Respond to RFPs and craft strategic annual upfront partnerships by working closely with Cineverse’s account management, marketing, product and research teams.
  • Meet with and build relationships with senior level decision makers and media buyers at all levels.
  • Educate the market and create messaging around the benefits of advertising on Cineverse Podcast Networks, being present and active with clients
  • Analyze campaign performance data and provide flighting recommendations to ensure client satisfaction and renewal of business
  • Proactively identify clients and industry relationships to optimize revenue streams
  • Report on revenue projections/forecasts and provide in-depth daily and weekly updates
  • Oversee campaign management; reporting, optimization, upsell opportunities and billing.
  • Manage ad placements in a podcast hosting platform (priority and positioning).
  • Work with Flightpath on bi-weekly calls

Essential Qualifications/Competencies

  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Strong understanding of podcast content development.
  • Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of podcast sales experience at a publisher or network.
  • Proficiency in podcasting tools and inventory systems is desirable.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining a seven (7) figure book of business.
  • Keen understanding of the digital advertising landscape and industry trends.
  • An active set of relationships with brand and agency buyers.
  • A demonstrated track record of meeting/exceeding goals in closing small, medium and large deals with key advertising partners and their respective agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to create relationships with internal collaborators across teams.
  • Fluency in the language of success behind performance marketing campaigns, including customer acquisition goals, retention, ROAS or cost-per-acquisition media buying.
  • Ability to operate independently, multitask, juggle multiple projects and priorities, and thrive in uncertain environments.
  • Experience selling sponsorships and custom content integrations is a major plus.
