Filmmaker

Purpose: To collaborate with the Programming and Story teams of Christ In Youth to bring films to life.

Missional Alignment: Calls youth to Christ and into a life of Kingdom work through the local church by delivering films of artistic excellence.

Reports to: Head of Film

Primary Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with programming/Story teams to realize creative vision of film projects

within specified budgets

2. Able to produce, direct, shoot, edit, all styles and genres of content with the opportunity

to grow and focus on narrative and documentary film

3. Attend weekly Film team meetings as well as bi- monthly meetings with MD Neely

4. Assertive in continuing education while at CIY and while away from CIY (blogs, books,

seminars)

Qualifications

1. Committed follower of Jesus Christ

2. Must provide examples of current work (within the last 2 years) specifically highlighting

narrative and/or documentary work

3. Ability and desire to work with teammates both inside and outside CIY

4. Exhibit solid understanding of storytelling principles and continue to refine them

5. Must be able to produce, shoot, edit, color, sound design, choose music

6. Must provide solutions to problems

7. Camera and software agnostic (Currently Adobe CC suite)

8. Attention to detail.

9. Good project management and budgeting skills

10. Commitment to artistic excellence

11. Self-motivated, assertive

12. Ability to meet inflexible deadlines.

13. Ability to balance artistic vision with realistic compromises.

Travel Expectation

1. Up to 30 nights away.
